Mine Trainer

We are currently seeking a Mine Trainer to join our Mine Operations department at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. As a Mine Trainer, you will play a crucial role in training and developing our mining team to ensure safe and efficient operations. You will also ensure that all mine employees operating the Excavator, Large Loading unit (Shovel/Bacho/loader), have received the necessary training to perform their duties. Determine training requirements, and develop and maintain training courses, manuals, materials, and evaluation procedures.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Analyze training needs and provide individual training:

• Identify training needs or gaps.
• Determine the source and the appropriate method to close the gap and provide internal training.

Prepare and/or purchase necessary training modules according to legislation and company requirements:

• Conduct research to determine appropriate sources.
• Purchase training modules.
• Prepare internal material and tests for individual training modules.

Conduct job reviews and follow-up training:

• Conduct job reviews for all employees in the mine to determine if follow-up training is necessary.
• Prepare evaluation reports to advise Mine Training Coordinators if operators are ready for a level increase.
• Provide and/or coordinate follow-up training for employees if required.

Maintain training records and files:

• Ensure all employees have been properly signed off for equipment they are operating.
• Maintain all training records in employee training files.
• Ensure all files are complete according to regulatory standards.
• Work with the Safety team and other mine departments to create training procedures to be used in the mine department.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Senior Secondary school diploma.
• Certified in operating Excavators, Large Loading units (Shovel/Bacho/loader) or have a minimum of 5 years' experience operating Excavators, Large Loading units (Shovel/Bacho/loader) in a mining environment.
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
• Be consistent and fair in the decision-making process.
• Be able to prepare course curriculums and develop training programs.
