Automation and Control Specialist

Role Summary
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automation and control systems across the mine and processing plant, while providing technical support to automation, instrumentation, and electrical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.

• Develop and modify PLC logic and system configurations.

• Maintain industrial networks, servers, and automation infrastructure.

• Diagnose system faults and implement effective solutions.

• Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Provide technical support to Instrumentation and Electrical teams.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.

• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

• Degree/HND in Control, Electrical, Electronic, Software Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent technician experience.

• Experience in gold mining or heavy industrial environments preferred.

• Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.

• Experience with Rockwell, Schneider/Modicon, AVEVA/Wonderware, ABB, or similar platforms is an advantage.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Willing to work across the mine, processing plant, and electrical facilities.
