Join Our Team as a Community Relations Officer at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. We are looking for a dedicated individual to support community investment projects in Brokopondo and Saramacca District populations. Responsibilities include socializing the Rosebel Community Fund, providing training on the application process, and assisting in project implementation. The ideal candidate will excel at fostering positive relationships with community members and promoting our initiatives effectively.  Join us in making a positive impact!  


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with community members to promote the new RCF model of community investment through presentations and training sessions.
  • Organize community events and initiatives to facilitate positive interactions and ensure compliance with the Community Relations Management System (CRMS).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address community needs and maintain consistency in our Community Investment approach.
  • Communicate company initiatives and projects transparently to the community.
  • Monitor community feedback to enhance the effectiveness of our Community Investment Program.
  • Collect and analyze data on investment projects to provide insights for process improvement.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Relations, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in social science research, conflict resolution, community investment, sustainable community development, including at least 2 years of field experience in a developing country.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse and complex environment with people of varying abilities and competencies.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and diplomatic skills as well as high level of cultural awareness and understanding.
  • A valid Surinamese driver’s license.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English and speaking knowledge of Sranan Tongo. Maroon language is an asset.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break.
