Expeditor

To support the Procurement and Expediting team, we are seeking experienced Expeditors. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet operational and project requirements. The Expeditor will report to the Project Procurement Supervisor for day-to-day direction and receive functional guidance from the Procurement Superintendent.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Manage communication between end-users, procurement, project team, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of purchase orders.

• Lead a team to provide accurate and timely reports on operations and project status.

• Quality review the expediting process to identify and address potential fabrication issues or shipment delays, directing resolution or recovery plans.

• Consult with suppliers and jobsites to coordinate deliveries, identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Review final documentation to meet payment milestones and contract completion requirements.

• Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing Manager/Buyer to gather internal documentation for RFQ submissions to vendors.

• Monitor purchases for raw and sub-contract materials, coordinate delivery schedules, track critical shipments, and address any issues promptly.

• Resolve invoice, packing slip, and certificate of compliance issues as needed.

• Prepare summary reports and other documentation as directed by the Procurement Supervisor.

• Provide leadership, training, and instruction to other expeditors.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of a High School diploma (HAVO/VWO or IMEAO);

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role;

• Experience with Oracle Purchasing Module or a similar integrated system;

• Proven experience in the procurement of goods and services within a multinational environment;

• General knowledge of computerized purchase order systems, with Oracle or SAP ERP preferred;

• Willingness to work at our Brokopondo mine site on a rotational schedule (14 days on, 7 days off);

• A valid ID and proof of good conduct (“Bewijs van goed gedrag”);

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both Dutch and English.
