Job description

As the HR Lead Talent at Rosebel Gold Mines, you will play a crucial role in the Human Resources department, providing strategic, tactical, and operational expertise for issues related to the full cycle of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, as well as Talent Management. Your main responsibility will be to own the full life cycle of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, ensuring that the company attracts and retains top talent. You will have a strong understanding of the business and culture of Rosebel Gold Mines, as well as the available talent pool in your assigned territories. In this role, you will provide support and information regarding general HR issues for the Talent function and related company policy. You will work closely with hiring managers and department heads to identify staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and execute effective talent acquisition plans. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. You will also play a key role in Talent Management, including performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and defining training and development needs across the Company.
    • Oversee training curriculum for new and existing employees; identify opportunities to streamline and improve as circumstances and business needs warrant.
    • Develop and improve leadership/manager training programs aimed at strengthening leadership and management abilities and how to grow well-skilled talent to also become great leaders and mentors, both from technical skills and soft skills to foster a great corporate culture along with strong technical aptitude.
    • Identify and monitor KPIs to define and track the success of training programs.
    • Lead incentive programs that drive organizational results, recognize high performance among employees, and value employee contributions.
  • Oversee the Talent Acquisition and Selection Process.
    • Manage the utilization of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) database and oversee the inflow of candidate resumes.
    • Deliver outstanding customer service to both candidates and the hiring team throughout the recruitment process, encompassing the coordination of interview scheduling between the candidate and hiring manager.
    • Conduct training sessions for hiring managers and teams, covering competency selection, interviewing skills, recruiting processes, and selection tools, to ensure adherence to appropriate hiring procedures. 
  • Establish and integrate a dynamic and seamless onboarding and induction system for new employees.
    • Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to establish and track the success of onboarding. 
    • Supervise on-site programs for new employees, which involve assisting in onboarding initiatives, implementing new induction programs, reporting, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in the functional area of Talent Management, typically developed and gained through related formal education and related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Proven ability to use behavioral-based interviewing techniques.
  • Proficiency in conducting needs analyses and diagnostic assessments to identify customer and organizational objectives, offering recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills including public speaking.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English and speaking knowledge of Sranan Tongo. 
  • Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 5 days of work (Monday to Friday) followed by 2 days break.
