Job description

At Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., we are currently seeking a dedicated Oracle Database and EBS Applications Administrator to join our Information Technology (IT) department. As an Oracle Database and EBS Applications Administrator, you will be required to collaborate with internal teams, Oracle partners, and representatives to ensure the smooth operation of Oracle systems, effective license management, and timely resolution of technical issues. The Administrator will also support the implementation of Oracle-related projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals, while adhering to the safety standards and shift work schedules typical of the mining industry

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Administered, optimize and troubleshoot Oracle databases and EBS applications. Manage security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes for both databases and EBS applications.

  • Ensure the availability and reliability of Oracle database systems and EBS platforms, with a focus on maintaining operational continuity within a mining environment.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of Oracle-related projects, including database upgrades, migrations, and EBS application enhancements.

  • Collaborate with Oracle partners and representatives to resolve technical issues and implement solutions for database and EBS environments.

  • Ensure all Oracle-related tasks are completed on time and within scope, considering the shift work schedules and operational demands of the mining industry.

  • Provide support for Oracle EBS modules (e.g., Financials, Supply Chain, HRMS) used by the organization. Assist with the customization, configuration, and optimization of EBS applications to meet business requirements.

  • Work with functional teams to address issues and improve the usability of the EBS platform, ensuring minimal disruption to critical mining operations.

  • Assist in managing Oracle licensing requirements, including procurement, renewals, and compliance for both databases and EBS applications.

  • Help evaluate and implement a cost-effective licensing strategy.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Oracle database administration and EBS application management.

  • Proven experience in managing Oracle databases and EBS applications in a production environment, preferably within the mining industry.

  • Experience with Oracle licensing, cost management, and compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database (versions 12c, 19c, or later) and Oracle E-Business Suite (R12 or later).

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle EBS customization, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and EBS modules such as Financials, Supply Chain, and HRMS.

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Must be willing to work on a rotation schedule of 6 weeks on/3 weeks off, 12 hours a day.
