Mechanic Heavy Duty Equipment

We are seeking for skilled Mechanics to join our Mine Maintenance team at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. 

As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty equipment used in mining operations. Your primary duties will include servicing, repairing mobile equipment such as power light plants, generators, pumps, heavy earth moving equipment, and utility type equipment to maintain the operational capability of the respective equipment. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Check, diagnose, and repair to components or mechanical systems, engine repair, machine assembly and disassembly, and exhaust systems.
• Routine preventive maintenance (P.M.) and oil changes to mobile equipment.
• Major and minor repairs to heavy equipment such as transmission/hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Rebuild and installing of components for various types of mobile equipment.
• Minor welding and oxy-acetylene cutting.
• Repair on 12 and 24 Volt Electrical Systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

• High school diploma (NATIN Werktuigbouwkunde or Elektrotechniek).
• Completion of RGM SURMAC 18-month trainee program.
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years working experience with mobile equipment used in mining.
• Demonstrated experience with trouble shoot, engine repair, machine assembly and disassembly, and exhaust systems.
• The ability to interpret and use manufacturer's parts manuals and service manuals.
• Knowledge of using diagnostic tools and testing machine performance and system modifications.
• Experienced in the use of CAT Service Information System and CAT Electronic Technician.
• Valid Suriname driver's license.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English, Mandarin language is an asset.
• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break.
