Medic

The Medic at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. provides professional support in occupational health, emergency care and healthcare services. This role assists physicians, manages health programs, performs medical testing and contributes to employee wellness and ensure compliance with the company health & and safety regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Evaluate and treat work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses in line with clinical nursing guidelines.

• Assist physicians in managing sick leave, return-to-work processes and maintaining medical records.

• Perform occupational health testing, including noise (audiometry), dust (spirometry) and blood lead sampling.

• Conduct alcohol and drug testing and support food handlers testing.

• Assist in emergency care and evacuation procedures on site.

• Promote health awareness, non-communicable disease education, kitchen hygiene and wellness programs.

• Collaborate with EHS, HR, and other departments to improve occupational health, injury prevention and workplace safety.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A post-secondary (Registered Nurse - Covab) diploma or degree in Nursing.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in emergency response and occupational health settings.

• Strong knowledge of emergency care, occupational health risks, and clinical nursing practices.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Ability to assess and treat injuries and illnesses, support emergency response, and maintain accurate medical records.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7days break.

• A copy ID & a valid proof of good conduct (“Bewijs goedgedrag”).

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.
