Metlab Technician, Mill Laboratory

Rosebel Gold Mines is currently seeking a MetLab Technician to join our Metallurgy Lab team in the Mill department. As a MetLab Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our gold production process. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting timely and accurate metallurgical tests and experiments to analyze the properties of gold ore samples. You will work closely with the Metallurgists and other team members to collect, prepare, and analyze samples using a range of laboratory equipment and techniques.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Perform metallurgical tests and experiments on gold ore samples.

• Collect, prepare, and analyze samples using laboratory equipment and techniques.

• Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.

• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

• Operate and monitor the Acacia system and gravity circuit performance.

• Monitor and account for reagent handling.

• Work closely with the mill assay lab to ensure samples are properly prioritized and results are received in a timely manner.

• Enter data from lab and field analyses in Mill systems (MS Excel).

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Higher Secondary Education: NATIN/AMTO – Chemical analyst or associate degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or a related field.

• 2 - 5 years of related experience working in a metallurgy lab or similar environment.

• Must have a solid understanding of optimizing mill throughput and recovery.

• Proficiency in using MS office, laboratory equipment and techniques.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English, and Dutch is an asset.

• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days on/ 7 days off.
