Procurement Officer

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Procurement Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for procuring materials, goods, and services essential for our operations, maintenance, and support functions. Additionally, you will provide crucial administrative and technical support to our Materials Management Department, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Procurement:

• Purchase goods and services to meet operational and warehouse needs at the best cost, quality, and delivery terms.

• Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure effective service delivery.

• Negotiate prices and terms with vendors.

• Maintain supplier information and explore alternative vendors to ensure cost control.

• Handle sourcing, purchase orders, and invoice queries.

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

• Prepare reports and procurement documentation.

• Support projects and provide administrative assistance where required.

Records & Administration:

• Operate the purchase order system and maintain accurate procurement records.

• Perform data entry, filing, and general clerical duties.

• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimal a High School Diploma (VWO/HAVO/IMEAO) or equivalent;

• A post-secondary degree or vocational certification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields is an advantage;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word)

• Experience or willingness to learn and work in Oracle ERP system (procurement/supply chain modules)

• Keen interest in procurement, logistics, or operational support

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both Dutch and English.

• Willingness to work at our Brokopondo mine site on a rotational schedule (14 days on, 7days off);

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goedgedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
