Senior Exploration Technician

We are seeking a Senior Exploration Technician to oversee onsite exploration activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible execution of exploration programs. The successful candidate will lead field crews, achieve production targets and schedules, maintain quality standards in accordance with SOPs and approved work proposals, and manage equipment, supplies, and exploration camps.

Your key responsibilities:

• Effectively organize and supervise onsite exploration activities, including geophysical, geochemical, and ecological programs, ensuring compliance with SOPs, approved work proposals, quality standards, and production schedules.

• Efficiently lead field crews, allocate personnel and equipment, coordinate work schedules, and monitor progress to ensure exploration targets are achieved.

• Accurately validate field data, ensure timely submission of technical documentation, maintain progress records, and prepare weekly and monthly reports.

• Proactively manage exploration camp operations, supplies, inventory, vehicles, equipment maintenance, and repairs to ensure operational readiness and continuity.

• Consistently enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements, conduct site inspections, lead safety meetings, manage PPE, and support incident reporting and investigations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• NATIN or an equivalent qualification in Geology, Mining, or a related technical field.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the geology and mining industry, including practical experience in geological, geochemical, and geophysical fieldwork.

• Strong knowledge of surveying, geochemical and geophysical technologies, RC and diamond drilling operations, geological exploration procedures, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.

• Excellent organizational, planning, and logistics skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with GIS software.

• Ability to lead field crews, manage exploration equipment and camp operations, ensure data accuracy, and execute exploration programs safely and efficiently in remote jungle environments.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
