Senior Geologist

At Rosebel Gold Mines, we are seeking a talented Senior Geologist to join our Regional Exploration Team. As a Senior Geologist, you will play a crucial role in our exploration efforts to discover and develop new mineral resources. You will be responsible for overseeing and directing the Geology, Technical, and Sample Management teams. Also decisively determining, managing, and controlling the geological and technical facets of our exploration activities, ensuring alignment with approved work programs and budgets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting geological mapping and sampling to identify potential mineral deposits
• Interpreting geological data to generate exploration targets
• Planning and executing drilling programs to test exploration targets
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate geological data into exploration models
• Contributing to resource estimation and reporting
• Staying current with industry trends and best practices in exploration geology

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
  
• A minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Geologist in the mining industry.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software such as Mapinfo, Geosoft Target and Leapfrog.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting geological mapping and interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of structural geology and ore deposit formation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience in managing exploration projects from planning to execution.
• Proven track record of contributing to the discovery of mineral deposits.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and regulations related to mineral exploration.
• Willingness to work in remote areas in basic field camp conditions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Valid driver's license.
