Job Title: Senior MetLab Technician – Mill Metallurgy Lab

Job Description

At Rosebel Gold Mines, we are committed to responsible mining practices that prioritize safety, sustainability, and community development. We are currently seeking a Senior MetLab Technician to join our Mill Metallurgy Lab team.

The Senior MetLab Technician supports the metallurgical team by organizing and executing timely and accurate sampling and analysis of process streams, conducting lab-scale test work, and contributing to mill performance optimization. This role ensures that metallurgical operations consistently meet performance and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities

Metallurgical Support & Testing:

• Operate and monitor the Acacia system and gravity circuit performance.

• Prepare daily mill samples for assay analysis.

• Collect samples from process streams and record mill process data.

• Enter lab and field analysis data into Mill systems (MS Excel).

• Maintain field analyzers and ensure proper functioning of sampling equipment.

• Prepare and supply analytical reagents to field operators.

• Conduct field observations and contribute to mill metallurgical improvements.

• Train plant operating personnel in metallurgical best practices.

• Prepare and distribute production reports.

• Maintain clean and contamination-free work areas in compliance with safety standards.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:

• Identify and mitigate workplace safety and environmental hazards.

• Perform QC test work on mill reagents and suggest cost-saving opportunities.

• Optimize circuit performance, gold production, and reagent usage.

• Collaborate with the mill assay lab to prioritize and process samples efficiently.

• Support refinery tasks as needed.

Reagent & Process Monitoring:

• Maintain records of reagent usage and grinding circuit product sizing.

• Monitor media usage and ensure reagent management aligns with production needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Higher Secondary Education: NATIN/AMTO – Chemical Analyst or Mine Engineering.

• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a gold processing plant.

Additional Competency Requirements:

• Solid understanding of mill throughput optimization and gold recovery.

• Proficient in computer applications and metallurgical software.

• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

• Strong observational, analytical, and reporting capabilities.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently and within a team.

• High level of confidentiality and safety awareness.

• Working knowledge of milling methods and metallurgical procedures.

• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English, Dutch is an asset.

• A willingness to work on a 14-day on/7-day off rotational schedule in Brokopondo.
