E/I Technician

We are seeking an E/I Technician to install, test, certify, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain instrumentation and electrical systems across mining equipment and facilities. The role is responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of these systems while maintaining compliance with established safety, quality, and operational standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conduct tests under actual or simulated conditions, accurately record results, and prepare reports and graphs to communicate findings.

• Select, install, calibrate, and maintain metering, recording, instrumentation, and related electrical circuits.

• Develop technical specifications for non-standard apparatus and equipment and verify the quality and functionality of equipment fabricated by technical personnel.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on test equipment, instrumentation, and peripheral systems to ensure reliable operation.

• Train and guide employees on proper equipment operation, testing procedures, and maintenance practices to minimize equipment failures and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

• NATIN diploma in Electrotechniek or an equivalent technical qualification.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a mining or production environment, with proven practical skills in construction, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

• Sound knowledge of electrical trade practices, including the proper use of tools, materials, and applicable safety procedures.

• Excellent electrical and instrumentation skills

• Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and follow verbal and written instructions effectively.

• Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and develop technical skills.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is required, with Dutch considered an asset.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
