Electrical Instrumentation Trainer and Coordinator

The Electrical Instrumentation Trainer and Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all employees and business partners who work with electrical hazards are trained in the Zijin Rosebel Goldmines Electrical safety standards. You will also oversee the daily operations of electrical subcontractors and field personnel.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintain a training needs matrix for RGM employees and business partners who work with or near electrical hazards.
• Assist in the development of annual electrical budgets and project plans.
• Coordinate on-site & off-site training by specialist training providers.
• Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and processes in relevant functional or process areas; manage the identification and implementation of improvements.
• Develop, improve and maintain electrical safety training and inductions, including course content, session plans and course material.
• Deliver electrical safety training and inductions for all site electrical personnel including electrical contractors.
• Implemented and maintained systems to deliver performance and KPI targets for all electrical maintenance operations.
• Lead or participate in safety programs/initiatives and encourage a safe work culture.
• Provide support for Electrical Workers' Authorization processes.
• Instrumental in the development of continuous improvement projects and cost-reduction strategies.
• Develop, improve and maintain technical training courses relating to electrical & instrumentation skills, including course content, session plans and course material.
• Perform on-the-job assessments to ensure knowledge, skills & competency.
• Monitor schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules, and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates.

The ideal candidate will have: 

• Minimum 8 years of related experience in the Electrical/Instrumentational related field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience as a trainer. 
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in electrical or instrumentation
• A Zero harm mindset with Safety at the forefront of all activities
• Supervisory experience
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant mining legislation and its application
• Knowledge and understanding of electrical safety
• Computer proficiency skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• Electrical/Instrumentation technical skills
• Ability to function effectively within a team unit
• Strong communication, problem solving and technical report writing skills
• Able to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with internal & external clients
• Monitor key performance indicators to achieve defined targets
• Excellent cross cultural understanding and communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications in English
