Exploration Geologist

We are seeking a motivated Exploration Geologist to join our Mine Exploration Department at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V.

The successful candidate will lead the Core Shack team, support field exploration activities, ensure accurate geological data collection, and contribute to geological interpretations and the expansion of mineral resources.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise and provide leadership to the Core Shack team, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and on time.

• Oversee geological drill core and RC chip logging, drilling data collection, sample handling, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.

• Coordinate and monitor field exploration activities, including drilling operations, geological mapping, and geochemical sampling programs.

• Validate, analyze, and maintain accurate geological, drilling, and assay data using relevant geological software and databases.

• Ensure compliance with RGM Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, industry best practices, and quality standards throughout all exploration activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree in Geology or relevant Geoscience is required. 

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in mine exploration or geology.

• Strong knowledge of drill core and RC chip logging, exploration drilling, sampling theory, and assay techniques.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and computer skills.

• Ability to learn quickly, work effectively in a team, and use geological software such as Gemcom, MapInfo, QGIS, or Leapfrog.

• Professional or technical registration in the relevant field is an advantage.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
