Senior Engineer – Mine Technology

Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Mine Technology to join our Mine Technology department. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of mine technology systems to improve operational efficiency, data integrity, and production performance while supporting safe and sustainable mining operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Fleet Management System (FMS) and other mine technology platforms.

• Ensure mining technology systems support operational excellence, productivity, and cost optimization.

• Coordinate with Engineering, Geology, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance, Survey, and IT to ensure mine technology systems meet operational requirements.

• Deliver real-time production reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and performance analytics for operational decision-making.

• Maintain the integrity, quality, and reliability of operational data generated by mine technology systems.

• Investigate and resolve data quality issues, hardware failures, software issues, and system configuration challenges.

• Monitor and maintain GPS, drill monitoring, payload monitoring, and equipment tracking systems.

• Ensure high availability of servers, communication infrastructure, databases, and supporting hardware.

• Coordinate hardware and software upgrades, system maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity requirements.

• Manage inventory of mine technology equipment and spare parts.

• Develop and deliver training programs for operators, dispatchers, supervisors, and national employees on mine technology systems.

• Research emerging mining technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with Company policies, ISO standards, and risk management requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics, or a related technical discipline.

• Additional qualifications in Mining Technology, Fleet Management Systems, or Project Management are considered an asset

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Fleet Management Systems (FMS), preferably within the mining industry.

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, mine technology systems, performance monitoring systems, Power BI, SSRS, and data communication networks.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing tasks, and work effectively in a high-pressure production environment.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 or 5 days of work followed by 7 or 2 days break.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate ("Bewijs van Goed Gedrag"). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
