Junior Drill and Blast Engineer - Temporary

We are seeking Junior Drill & Blast Engineers to join our Mine Technical Services department at Rosebel Gold Mines. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all drilling and blasting activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Participating in the collaborative design of drill and blast plans
• Inspecting and testing materials used in drilling and blasting operations
  
• Monitoring and evaluating drilling and blasting processes to ensure compliance with regulations
• Analyzing data and preparing reports on quality control findings
• Collaborating with the operations team to implement improvements in quality control procedures
• Conducting regular audits to identify areas for quality enhancement.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior internship or practical experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic mining, drilling, blasting and engineering principles, as well as safety and environmental regulations.
• Software Skills: Basic knowledge of mine design software (such as AutoCAD, Surpac, or MineSight) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
• Willingness to work on a temporary base, learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break in Brokopondo
